Directions to Washington State
GETTING TO WASHINGTON STATE:
The state is located in the extreme Northwest corner of the contiguous United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the South, Idaho to the East and the Canadian Province of British Columbia to the North. The Western side of the state is bordered by the Pacific Ocean.
DRIVING: All areas of the state can be reached by major Interstates or good state roads. Running North-South through the Western part of the state is Interstate Five which comes from Oregon and continues up to British Columbia where it becomes Canadian Highway 99. Another North-South Route is Interstate 82 from Hermiston Oregon, up through the tri-cities of Pasco, Richland and Kennewick. It continues North through Yakima eventually becoming highway 97 and crossing Wenatchee, Chelan and the Okanogan Valley before reaching Canada. Interstate Ninety runs East-West in the almost center of the state coming from Idaho, through Spokane in Eastern Washington and terminating in Seattle to the West. Other East-West highways are Highway 12 in the Southern part of the state and Highway 2 in the northern part.
FLYING: There are major international airports in Seattle Tacoma area (Western Washington) and Spokane in Eastern Washington. Access to the state is also easy from Portland International in Portland Oregon, just across the river from Vancouver Washington (not Vancouver BC) in the Southern part of the state and from Vancouver BC just across the border from Blaine and Bellingham Washington in the Northern region of the state. There are also jet serviced airports in Wenatchee, Yakima and the Tri-Cities.
RAIL: Amtrak provides passenger rail service North-South through Seattle Tacoma and East West through Spokane to Seattle.
Directions to Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier National Park is located in west central Washington about 48 miles southeast of Tacoma, WA. The park is approximately a one to two hour drive from Seattle, Tacoma and Yakima, Washington and Portland, Oregon. Access to Mt. Rainier National Park is found through four main park entrances:
Northwest Entrance at Carbon River
Northeast Entrance at Sunrise/White River
Southwest Entrance at Nisqually River
Southeast Entrance at Ohanapecosh
Other park roads are open only during the summer months.

** During Winter months, be careful of ice and/or snow on the driveway. Try to always take an AWD vehicle or use chains. Please also note the specific driveway instructions to the home! **
- Take Exit 68 and head East on US-12.
- Continue for on US-12 for about 50 miles.
- Turn left onto Hwy 131 S in the town of Randle.
- Take a slight left onto Cispus Rd after crossing the Cowlitz River Bridge.
- Drive 0.3 miles down Ciprus RD and turn left at the first intersection onto Cline Rd.
- Drive 3.7 miles to the driveway which will be on your right after the "sharp bend" signs.
-Access to Burnbank Mountain Lodge at 854-A Cline Road is via a 1/4 mile private drive shared by multiple residences. The driveway steadily gains elevation from the Cline Road entrance, with a few sharp bends along the way.

Burnbank Mountain Lodge is at the uppermost end of the drive, 0.1 miles past the first home (on the right hand side). Bear left/straight at the fork. Then follow the gentle bend to the right, and travel straight up the incline, with Burnbank Mountain Lodge directly in view.
Please keep in mind the following tips:
- Look out for oncoming vehicular, and pedestrian and animal traffic.
- During severe winter weather, improved traction such as four wheel drive and/or tire chains may be necessary.
- Park your vehicle safely with room for other vehicles to pass through.
- Headlights on for safety.
- Drive slowly, especially around the bends!
